“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” ~Micah 6:8b
Throughout Scripture, we are reminded of humanity’s place in the story of God’s loving mission to the world. Equally, through the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, we are compelled to continue that mission as a testament to our faith. From our beginnings as an outreach to the American naval and army personnel passing through London during the Second World War to our transformation into a church filled with many nations and many creeds, the American International Church (AIC) has always held outreach and service to the local community and the wider world at the core of who we are.
For nearly 50 years—from Grosvenor Square to Tottenham Court Road—AIC has been partnering with missions around London to better serve our local community. From providing food and clothing for the homeless and food poor to providing shelter for London’s homeless and refugee populations during the winter months, we first seek to serve the least of those who live in this city. Internationally, from our partnership with a social justice team in Cebu, Philippines to our outreach work with various partners in the Middle East, we seek to look beyond our immediate surroundings in order to be fully involved in Christ’s mission for the world. In all of these, we partner with local and international churches as a reflection of Christ’s Global Church.
